Monster Energy Yamaha rider David Philippaerts FIM MX1 World Champion

David Philippaerts back on track
David PhilippaertsMonster Energy Yamaha rider David Philippaerts took to the track last week for the first time in four months. The 2008 FIM MX1 World Champion completed his first training outing after suffering breaks to both wrists in an accident while practicing for the Grand Prix of Czech Republic in the first week of August. The soon-to-be 28 year old has been following a comprehensive and carefully planned rehab and recovery process and was relieved and excited to see that the first ride near his home in Borgosesia went extremely well.

“I’m really happy and feel very good,” he commented. “I was a bit scared just before going on the bike because I really didn’t want any bad effects from the injury but we went to a track that didn’t have that many jumps and I was able to hit everything straight away. Afterwards there was no pain or discomfort; it was another important step.”

“I haven’t ridden my race bike yet,” the Italian revealed. “I have been building up and have been training with the 2012 YZ250F which has been great because it feels very light and easy to ride. The team dropped the bike off a few days ago and I’ve already been out a few times and I like the way it handles and the power delivery.”
The determined racer underwent three operations and a three week stay in hospital in the immediate wake of the crash in Germany and although he now plans to complete a full and unrestricted off-season schedule he is still heeding medical advice: “I’m being smart and taking it easy. Every week I make a check-up and also go for a massage and physio on my arms. I know I cannot be 100% straight away. I have to say though that I couldn’t be happier with the people I have around me and how much they have helped. It means a lot when they say I am doing well and I am good to go.”

After the spell in Sardinia Philippaerts – with team-mate Steven Frossard and new MX2-GP recruit Christophe Charlier - will then begin the pre-season phase of warm-up race events and International appearances with the first round of the 2012 FIM World Championship slated for Easter weekend in April in Holland. “We still have to decide the races,” he says. “We will enter the Italian championship but before that we have to see whether we do the Mantova Starcross or Valence in France; one of those will be the first meeting in February. I will also be in Belgium a bit more this year for training and sand riding.”

Teddy Blazusiak aims for home glory ,(12-20111)FIM SuperEnduro

Teddy Blazusiak
With just a few days to go before the second round of the 2012 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship takes place in Lodz, Poland final preparations are well underway for what will be the first ever international indoor enduro event held in Poland. Welcoming the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship to Lodz, as the series reaches its half-way point organisers Lodz Automobile Club have built a unique and challenging course that they are sure will deliver racing every bit as close and exciting as at the campaign opener.

For current championship leader Taddy Blazusiak - KTM the Polish event will mark a very special moment in his highly successful career. Regarded as the World's best indoor enduro racer, the KTM star will get his first ever chance to showcase his talents in front of his home fans inside the Atlas Arena. Dominating the proceedings in Genoa by winning all three SuperEnduro finals in convincing style, Blazusiak will be focused on keeping this winning streak alive. With the support of his home crowd behind him, the 2012 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship leader is likely to be an even harder rider to beat.

First in line to try and steal some of Blazusiak’s thunder is Sweden's Joakim Ljunggren - Husaberg. Runner-up to Blazusiak in Genoa, the Husaberg rider knows that in order to keep his title chances on track he must take the fight to Taddy in Poland. Beating the Polish rider inside his home stadium would prove a critical punch for Ljunggren, but one that the Swedish rider will only be able to deliver if he can remain fast and consistent
Behind the top three riders in the championship standings comes a long list of competitors all capable of getting themselves on the podium in Lodz. Xavier Gallindo - Husaberg, Jonny Walker - KTM and Alex Salvini - Husqvarna all recorded a top three result in one of the SuperEnduro finals in Genoa, however were also hampered by crashes. If each can improve on their consistency in Poland, the current top three riders can expect a real fight on their hands. Adding into the unpredictable mix Ivan Cervantes - Gas Gas, Alfredo Gomez - Husaberg, Cody Webb - Beta and Dani Gibert - Husaberg the second round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship in Lodz, Poland looks set to be another night of thrilling and unpredictable racing.

Michele Piro Rider the San Carlo Honda Gresini CRT CBR 1000R 2012 Motogp

Rider the San Carlo Honda Gresini CRT machine which sports a FTR chassis and Honda CBR 1000R engine.
Michele PiroWe have decided that it feels right for a new project such as CRT to give Michele Pirro the opportunity to show his talent. He demonstrated in the closing stages of the 2011 Moto2 World Championship that he has the technical ability to improve further as a rider and we believe that he can be one of the leading CRT riders."

His fantastic and truly unforgettable win at Valencia was emotional for all of us and it convinced us that he is worthy of this chance. We are also obviously an Italian team so it is also important to us to carry this new project forward with an Italian rider in Michele". Fausto Gresini said".

Michele Piro said:"I’m happy to have made this decision and proud to join the San Carlo Honda Gresini team in this interesting new adventure. It wasn’t an easy decision to make because of the fact that initially I had wanted to try to improve on the 2011 results I had in Moto2, but the growing confidence that Fausto Gresini had for me at the end of the season left me with no doubt about the choice to take. I feel honored to continue to be a part of this fantastic group and to work together with them on this ambitious project that represents the future of MotoGP. I hope to return the confidence they have in me with results and technical contributions to this exciting team.

Randy de Puniet: I’m very optimistic about this new project(12-2011)Motogp

Randy De PunietAfter two days of tests last week in Valencia with the Aspar Team, Randy de Puniet took advantage of the current period of inactivity to undergo a minor surgery before testing resumes in January. The operation was completed successfully on Wednesday to remove the titanium rod plus one screw that were inserted into his left tibia as a result of an injury sustained last year in Sachsenring, as well as two screws from his left ankle were inserted after a motocross crash in 2009.

De Puniet’s immediate plans are to recover 100% physically, which will take a minimum of ten days, before resuming training in mid-December ahead of further development of the Aprilia powered CRT machine that the team will contest in the 2012 campaign.

Following the Jerez test, de Puniet spoke to motogp.com to share his views regarding the new bike and the project that will launch in 2012 alongside the 1000cc bikes in the premier class.

“We had great testing conditions for the two days, we made some progress and I had fun with this bike," said the 30 year old. "It was a good first impression and so the two days were encouraging. I'm happy with my times and my pace, we are still far from the prototypes, but I think we can be pleased because it was the first time riding the bike, and it’s far from the bike that it will be in January."

Regarding future work to be carried out based on his first contact with the bike, de Puniet said: "The objective of this test was to try to decide on a direction to build a chassis and I think the team now has a good idea of how to move forward. We will do more testing at Jerez in late January, before going to Sepang with a bike that won’t yet be final, as we’ll continue to develop it, but it will be the basis of what we’ll have next season.

Pasindu powers Gajaba Supercross

Aravinda Premadasa was a notable absentee in the super car event due to a technical failure of his car but the stocky driver was moving between paddocks and the winners, with a gentle smile on his face. It looked that rising star, Shehan C. Adhikari is gearing up to take the baton from his seniors with three easy wins in Motor Cycle events. The lad, who still rides under 16 categories, won both of Group MX - Motocross Bikes up to 85 CC events and Group MX - Motocross Bikes up to 125 CC events.
He showed great skill and character as he fought hard with a well experienced Shanaka Sandaruwan who was riding a 150 CC Honda CR, against Adhikari's 85 CC Honda CR.
The incident of the day was Upulwan Serasinghe's car rolling upside down. The Ford Laser specialist, Serasinghe won the SLN Cars Ford Laser/Mazda 1300 CC event easily before going out of the competition in the 1500 CC event.

The race was stopped and restarted after clearing the track but without 'Sera' and Kirinde where Chaminda Weerasooriya had an easy win. Sampath Kumara won both of the Street Trail events for Standard/Modified motor cycles while Suraj Perera foxing Thusith Gunasekara in the Super Motard up to 450 CC event with few yards to the chequered flag.
The event was superbly organized and conducted by Gajaba regiment in association with SLARDAR (Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers And Riders)

The three Repsol Honda riders battled hard during the 28 lap race in incredibly hot and humid conditions

The three Repsol Honda riders battled hard during the 28 lap race in incredibly hot and humid conditions. Jorge Lorenzo took an early lead from the front row with Stoner and Pedrosa following closely behind. The Australian rider maintained the gap to Lorenzo at under three tenths of a second for the first ten laps, but then fatigue kicked in and he was unable to match Lorenzo's pace, who gradually pulled away. Stoner tried to keep a distance to third place Pedrosa, but was unable to fend of his Spanish team mate who passed him on lap 22.
Andrea Dovizioso was involved in a close battle for fourth with Simoncelli and Spies. The Italian jumped from sixth to fourth in the first corner off a great start, but was passed by Simoncelli on lap seven. He kept Spies behind him for the entire race and on lap 25 managed to pass Simoncelli to take fourth. But on the final lap, Simoncelli regained fourth place and Dovizioso had to settle for fifth.
The riders will now enjoy a week of rest before heading to Aragon for Round 14 of the MotoGP World Championship on Sunday 18 September.
Dani Pedrosa:
"I'm a little disappointed with the race because the bike didn't feel as good as in practice. The second part of the race was good, Jorge had a perfect race today, but I was able improve my times lap by lap and catch Casey. We've been lucky today as it was cooler than yesterday the rain didn't come. It's been two demanding races in a row and this one in particular was the toughest of the season so far - the circuit is challenging with so many hard braking areas and it's been very hot again, also after Indy it's been difficult to recover from the jet lag. Let's hope we can get some rest and be stronger for Aragon."
Casey Stoner:
"At the beginning of the race I was cautious as there were a few spots of rain, once this cleared up I was pretty comfortable behind Jorge, I didn't feel the need to push and then tiredness suddenly hit me. It was hard to find the braking points and change direction on the bike, there was nothing wrong with the tyres, nothing wrong with the bike, the team did a great job and gave me a fantastic package, I'm just worn out. I had to put in a lot more effort into Laguna and Brno, riding a lot harder than I normally would. All credit to Jorge, he had a fantastic race, hopefully by Aragon I'll be fully fit and recovered."
Andrea Dovizioso:
“It was a tough race, I had to push hard and ride aggressively and we had to cut the power a lot due to fuel consumption issues. I knew that with this cut in power it would have been impossible to fight for the podium, so this affected my motivation. We had a good battle with Marco and Spies; for the first time this season Marco beat me so congratulations to him. Our target was to gain some points on Lorenzo and we didn’t manage it.

Lorenzo Win Motogp San marino

Jorge lorenso be the fastest in san marinogp, he left the other racers, and while the first phinis, ripal closest pinis Casy stoner third after his team preceded by a fatner team Dani Pedrosa, as the home team and Valentino Rossi can not do much to finish him 6, jockeying for position 4 is very tight after three riders competing, namely Marcosimoncelli, Dapisioso and Ben Spice, and Simoncelli dimnangkan talented racer who does not manuper ak hir in the points race while adrift 35poin between lorenzo and Casy Stoner, making the atmosphere of the title race world becomes exciting.

Admit Pedrosa, Stoner & Lorenzo Faster

Dani Pedrosa happy with third place he achieved at the San Marino MotoGP qualifying session. Pedrosa losing faster than Stoner and Lorenzo at the Misano circuit on Saturday (09/03/2011). "I am pleased with the qualifying session," Pedrosa delighted at the official MotoGP website.

"I spent a lot of time to the problem tires, swapping tires medium soft tires, trying to find the best fit for tomorrow." We worked hard on that this afternoon and at the end of qualifying I struggled to get into the front row, "Pedrosa said.

"I get there, where it is most important here because dangat tight first corner, and records the time between the three of us are very close together. It's positive," said the Spaniard this.

Pedrosa admitted that the race Stoner and Lorenzo is still faster from it. But, he did not want to give up.

"To speed the race, Casey and Jorge is still a bit faster than me. But we will try to find a setting more okay tonight and try to be with them throughout the race tomorrow," he concluded.

Simoncelli will start the San Marino MotoGP race

Marco Simoncelli seemed to realize that the chances to compete with Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa is not great. For that, he was more aiming for a duel with Ben Spies and Andrea Dovizioso.

Simoncelli will start the San Marino MotoGP race on Sunday (04/09/2011), from the fifth position. With performance Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa are far superior to the other drivers, Simoncelli was being realistic. Honda Gresini rider is more likely to think his fight with Spies and Dovizioso.

"I was pretty strong here, but we need more powerful because of the three leading riders incredibly fast. However, I am confident because I thought I could fight with Spies and Dovizioso," he said at the official MotoGP website.

I'm sure the front tires are harder, my problem would be less. "As for fuel consumption, where it is today our biggest worries, we've developed these days and we should be able to finish the race," due diligence

Until qualifying San Marino MotoGP

Until qualifying San Marino MotoGP, Valentino Rossi is still a problem with the bike. Although the race will be difficult to recognize, he will still fight hard to entertain his fans.

Rossi was just ranked 11th in the qualifying session at Misano circuit on Saturday (03/09/2011). Record time of about 1.5 seconds slower than Casey Stoner, who mastered the pole position.

"Today is a little better, like my feelings with the bike," said Rossi, who was quoted by Autosport.

"I can achieve a better position. But, on a good lap, I lost half a second as it passes through (Randy) de Puniet," added the Ducati rider.

"Of course it's not fantastic, with the other drivers are so fast.

Rossi revealed that the Desmosedici bike riding are also still experiencing problems in several aspects. We also had problems with braking," he said.

For today's race, Rossi admitted will run hard for him. But, for the fans, he will try hard.

"Normally we are a good speed and we can expand.

"We'll just try to racing well. At least for the fans, who despite feeling sad but still show their support in these difficult times," he added.

Marshfield Fair Supercross more than a race for Carver man

As Keith Johnson sits tensely on his lime green motorcycle, feet firm on the ground, fingers clutching the ignition and eyes locked waiting for the starting gate to drop, his mind isn’t just focused on the race ahead of him.
The 40-year-old Carver resident has been riding motocross since he was 6 years old and spent more than 20 years on the professional circuit racing on two continents. But, as his career began to enter its twilight, Johnson realized it was all about the kids.
Now, the retired rider attempts to pass on his craft to aspiring youngsters, much like himself, at the his own Motocross academy.
“When I was young, I had to learn by myself, a lot of trial and error, and I really wanted give these kids a place to come, learn and have fun.”
It was a great new venture for Johnson but, as he tells it, the career transition didn’t come without a struggle.
“At first I really didn’t want to do the academy, I was still racing and traveling all the time and just didn’t want to commit” Johnson said with a smile spreading across his face. Johnson still says that nothing quite compares to digging into a sharp turn or flying over the finish line, but he has embraced his newfound role as a mentor.
“I’ve been riding all my life and nothing quite comes to the adrenaline and excitement of a race,” Johnson added. This week, in addition to competing on his own, Johnson had the opportunity to watch many of his students compete at the 12th annual Marshfield Fair Supercross.
The experience was so gratifying for the father of two, that Johnson even compared the joy to that of fatherhood.
“It's like being a proud dad,” a giddy Johnson said of watching his students succeed.
