Ostberg, currently sixth in the WRC drivers’ standings

Ostberg, currently sixth in the WRC drivers’ standings, will contest the gravel event in a Ford Fiesta RS WRC to practice ahead of Neste Oil Rally Finland, the next round of the 13-event WRC season. The two rallies use similar high-speed gravel stages.
Martin, a winner of five world championship rallies with Ford prior to his retirement from regular competition, confirmed his participation on the event yesterday. The Estonian legend will use the same Focus RS WRC 03 he took to victory on the rally last season. His countryman Kristo Kraag will co-drive.
“We’re going to fight for the victory for sure,” said Norwegian Ostberg, who will be partnered by regular navigator Jonas Andersson from Sweden. “Besides that we are working with different set-ups and our goal is to get good feeling before Neste Oil Rally Finland. It’s good Markko Märtin is starting in the rally - it will be a really good event.”
and former WRC regular Urmo Aava welcomed Martin’s participation. “It’s very good news for the rally fans,” he said. “For the organisers this means bigger publicity, good competition and a great opportunity to introduce Estonia in Europe. As Markko is starting Rally Estonia there is a very big possibility that victory will come to Estonia.”
The auto24 Rally Estonia is based in the south of the Baltic state from 15-16 July
